In compliance with the national government mandate to postpone face-to-face classes, the UST College of Commerce and Business Administration starts its Special Term of A.Y. 2019-2020 on June 22, 2020, adopting full online delivery of classes through synchronous and asynchronous means.

Synchronous classes shall have students and their respective course instructors engage in real-time remote discussions through the University’s cloud campus at https://ust.blackboard.com, or through other means as professors are also encouraged to utilize other online collaborative platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom to host online lectures. In doing so, students are also advised to be in prescribed uniform or any attire that complies with the university’s deportment policies.
Comparatively, asynchronous classes require students to submit course outputs as per course instructor’s assigned deadline. More so, block sections are not required to engage in live discussion with their respective professors.
Taking into account students’ feedback as to how online classes were conducted during the shift to online delivery during the continuation of the second term of A.Y. 2019-2020, the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (OVRAA) – as well as the College administration – required all faculty handling courses for the special term to undergo training and attend seminars on the Blackboard Learning Management System during the two weeks leading to the start of the special term.
Course offerings available for the special term can be found on the College’s Facebook page at https://bit.ly/Special-Term-Offerings. Furthermore, students are also required to review their course plans before enrolling in their classes.
The Preliminary Exams are scheduled on July 8 with the Final Examinations set on July 27. The special term is set to conclude on July 28, 2020.
